What have I been up to..
Well.. it's been some time.
Trust me, I had things to talk about but I never believed it was good enough story for a blog post.. or that might just be an excuse when I may just be lazy.
So to make up for it in my lackluster way here is a quick look at stuff I did. I am not too familiar with blog culture, but I believe this is not something people usually do on their blogs but bear with me. I am not a writer not do I like writing. If I had a bit lower standards I would just record my talk in my native language and use a voice to text with translator and copy and paste it here, but since I still value my work somewhat, I type everything on my thinkpad at 1am instead.
So, to get to the point, things I have done in last few months. Well.. I got into making songs in DAWs, but don't think I am good at it. If you asked me how good I was compared to driving a car I would still be at ignition, not even on the road. Even though I'm having fun with it. I took up Reaper since it is free to try and full licence ain't something that will leave me with a hole in my wallet. I bought some plugins trough HumbleBundle, AudioPluginDeals and WAproduction and learnt how to use Vital to some degree, but I'm still just learning to walk. :3.
That interest then lead me to seek my next interest which is speakers (or better monitors). I don't have any, nor do I have the moneys to buy nice ones, but I do have a subscription to DIY Perks and ambition. So I did what any other braindead teenage nerd would do and went out of my way to learn how to design speakers and what goes into good ones. From that I started learning FreeCAD to design some housings and since I hate myself I also wanted to integrate them in a monitor desk. Well, it is going fine. I am still at basics of CAD since it was just recently that I started learning and I have ordered the first parts of them and in the end I am targeting a nice 200ish euro monitor pair. I might talk In more detail about them when they're (if they're) done and they sound half decent.
Next one might not be one to go and be proud of depending on who you ask but I got hooked on anime. So much have I heard how x or y anime is the new Beethoven for eyes and I never believed it, even making fun of people talking such claims, but as I got older I took up a stance that someone has no right on hating someone/something they never experienced/met so I gave it a shot. I've seen glimpses of it in pop and social media, but never the real deal and as a first anime I took up Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita. I had personal, if stupid, reasons to take that as my first, but honestly I enjoyed it a lot more than I wanted to accept I would. So a friend of mine recommended me Black Clover and it was fine.. and from there I watched many more series and enjoyed them varying amount but I understood why people like anime finaly. It was a perfect middlepoint of not too real, or maybe a better word would be locked down by real world, but also not too far from known as (most) characters are depicted as humanoids. Add to that (intentional) sex appeal of characters, good production quality and character with complex, layered personalities often better depicted than in traditional films/series it is no wonder it got so popular. At current I am going trough Monogatari series and am currently at second season and can confidently say this is in my top 3 best animes I watched yet, if not top 1. So if something is to take from this it is to not judge a book by its cover... right.
Now onto a next contender, books! Yeah I started reading again more often. Don't think I go home and grab a book and read i by a candle for three hours, but I like reading books from time to time. For example I come home and do my usual activities and when I'm free I do grab a book sometimes and read it for few hours.. OK it's not that much reading but it is more than average boy of my age would do.. I think so. If you for some unknown reason wonder what is it I read it is science and political books I like. And also those self-improvement books like How to be more social in three easy steps and the likes. I personally don't find novels and such fun or interesting to read.
I have also been to DORS/CLUC conference this year at Algebra University, with a friend. It was fun, learnt few new things, not much else I can say about that. They did say that this might be a last conference which would be a shame since I wanted to do a talk next year, but if it is the last ta least I had a chance to be there.
I also applied to Erasmus student exchange program to hopefully go to Italy or Spain next year and if I get in I will definitely do a post about that.
I guess that is it. Maybe a missed something but it is 2am now and my brain is done for. There are probably countless mistakes in the text but it beats me. 'Till next time, pet ur cat!!
